Support centre SAPNIS ("A Dream") is an association that was officially established on 5 July, 2007 in Riga.
Children centre started its work under the association SAPNIS on 10 September, 2007. We are located in nicely renovated premises of the Pentecostal Church Cerība on 31 Nometnu Street, 2nd floor. We are grateful for financial support from Varnamo Pentecostal Church Arken (Sweden).
Already for several years, since the spring of 2003, a group of volunteers worked with children and teenagers in Agenskalns, Riga (supported by Swedish Church). At the beginning it was ministering in addition to the Sunday school at the Church Ceriba. Children from the local area had a place to come during the weekends, to participate in various hobby groups and to have a warm lunch. Later on a charity organization Erikshjalpen from Sweden joined the activities and for several years we had a project that allowed about 30 children from low-income families to join the school. At the same time there was a day care centre that hosted children and teenagers. Every working day about 15-20 children came to the centre to do the homework, to eat, to wash, to join hobby groups or just to spend their time wisely.
