„It is a foggy autumn morning. People are rushing to work. Parents are taking the children to school. But there is a bare-footed boy on the sideway, red with weeping. He is holding a worn-out toy in his armpit. A young lady holding her small daughter at hand is passing by. She notices the small, half naked boy and comes up to him: - Why are you standing here alone? Boy is not answering. Huge tears are running down his cheeks. |
- I am waiting for my mother… finally utters the boy
- She went away and I am waiting for her to come back!
- Where did your mother go? And why are you standing alone? Where do you live? Is anybody else home? A pile of questions come from the lady!
- Mother went to buy a bottle of alcohol. I live nearby. An aunt is sleeping in the flat…
Somewhere in between this hasty, ever-changing technological age, a child with his own dreams and hopes is standing on the sideway. Somewhere on the sideway there is someone who is in need of a helping hand.
Support centre “Sapnis” gives a helping hand to those who are starving, to those who need love. We are trying to help to fulfil hopes and dreams of a child – dreams about better life, hopes for happy future.
Join our work – you can also help! Become our partner, because these are not “Those children”, they are OUR CHILDREN, OUR FUTURE.
In order to help one child about 25 LVL ($52 or €36) are needed per week (food, lunch at school, medicine, household goods (toilet paper, hygiene goods), stationery, school materials, school books, clothes, utilities payments, salaries and taxes for the workers of the centre).
Support centre “Sapnis” is a charity organization that can function only on the basis of offerings. We are grateful for each financial and material support.
